With grins as big and beaming as the sun sizzling down on the Nürburgring racetrack, the FALKEN Motorsports team scooped a victory when drivers Stef Dusseldorp and Jörg Müller won the fourth round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft 2017 endurance race at the famous circuit in Germany's Eifel region. In the 48th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy race, the BMW M6 GT3 fielded by the Japanese tyre manufacturer held off the competition and crossed the finishing line with more than half a minute to spare. FALKEN driver Müller barrelled forward to the head of the field only two laps into the race, and eventually took the BMW M6 GT3 to an easy victory 34 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. While competitors used a range of pit stop strategies to regain pole position now and again, the event was clearly dominated by Müller. “The tyres were really consistent, which is exactly what I need to push forward", explained Müller. “This win is a well-deserved reward for the tireless dedication of our drivers, the team and our engineers in Japan, who developed an extremely competitive tyre", said a delighted Markus Bögner, COO of Falken Tyre Europe GmbH. The tyre brand can also congratulate itself on a further success – Frikadelli Racing, a further team relying on Falken tyres, gained fourth place in the same race. However, the second FALKEN vehicle in the race was not so lucky; the Porsche 911 GT3 R was forced to take a pitstop for several minutes, but still made it to 14th place in the end. FALKEN is the only team in the 2017 race season to have entered two different vehicles from premium German marques. The race marked the start of the summer break for the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring. The next highlight of the season in the world's largest endurance racing series will take place on 19th August, with the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen.
